Title: Understanding the Risk to Bitcoin from Quantum Computing: A mathematical walk through of Shor's algorithm & how it can be used to attack the Eliptical Curve Cryptographic functions used in Bitcoin.
Bio: Steve Yalovitser is the co-founder of the NYC Quantum Computing Meetup. He has previously been a speaker & panelist at a number of Quantum Conferences, as well as presenting at the meetup on several topics. His background includes thirty years of experience in building & running high performance computing systems in support of trading & risk in a number of major banks. He has previously built & launched a major service in AWS called Amazon FinSpace & launched features for Amazon Managed Blockchain, & Bedrock. He is currently a principal engineer at AWS AnnapurnaLabs working on the Neuron software stack.
