Title: Application of Entropy Quantum Computing in Financial Fraud Detection
Abstract:
In this talk, we introduce Entropy Quantum Computing (EQC), a novel optimization paradigm that stabilizes quantum reservoirs into ground states to solve complex problems [1]. We present an experimental demonstration using a hybrid photonic-electronic platform that encodes photon qudits in the time-frequency domain & integrates electronic interconnects to realize arbitrary Hamiltonians. Benchmarking results from Quantum Computing's latest EQC hardware, Dirac-3, show that entropy-based computing offers a scalable & flexible approach for solving a broad class of NP-hard optimization problems.
In the second part, we focus on applying EQC to credit card fraud detection [2]. We introduce Continuous Variable Quantum Boosting (CVQBoost), a new boosting algorithm tailored for EQC, & benchmark its performance against Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). Using synthetic datasets of up to 70 million samples, we demonstrate that CVQBoost on the Dirac-3 system provides competitive accuracy with significantly improved scalability, lower energy consumption, & greater potential for interpretability compared to traditional deep learning methods. These results establish CVQBoost as a compelling alternative for large-scale classification tasks.
The Dirac-3 hardware will be brought to the NY Quantum Meetup, where live demos will be conducted.
