How can we promote a fairer, safer, more understanding internet? How can we work collaboratively to improve digital life?
About this Event
What is the Citizens & Technology Summit?
The Citizens & Technology Summit brings together communities, researchers, & advocates to share, imagine, & design citizen-led agendas for technology & society.

How can citizens work for a world where digital power is guided by evidence & accountable to the public? Leaders in the field will share lightning talks of inspiring projects to test the social impacts of technology, discover effective actions for change, & scale those discoveries.

The summit will also launch a new identity for the Citizens & Technology Lab (currently CivilServant), which started as a PhD project & has grown into a center for innovation at Cornell University. The summit is hosted by the Citizens & Technology Lab.

J. Nathan Matias, Cornell University, Founder of Citizens & Technology Lab
Julia Angwin, Editor in Chief of The Markup
Desmond Patton, Columbia University, & Founder of SAFELab
Julia Kamin, Citizens & Technology Lab
Natalie Bazarova, Cornell University, Director of Social Media Test Drive
And more!
The event will be followed by a networking session with all keynote speakers.
