EVENT DETAILS
Join us as we hear Anne Stotler & Matthew Hankin of ideas42 share their work as members of the New York City Behavioral Design Team (BDT). Building on proven interventions at the federal, state, & city level, the BDT uses behavioral insights to develop solutions to difficult problems in NYC government, in partnership with the NYC Mayors Office for Economic Opportunity. Since its launch in 2016, the BDT has worked with more than a dozen agencies across City government to apply behavioral science to problems in economic mobility, education, health, equity & justice, sustainability, government operations, & other areas.

Speaker bios:

Anne Stotler is a Senior Associate at ideas42. Anne is a member of the New York City Behavioral Design Team (NYC BDT) & also works on projects with the US Department of Labor. Prior to joining ideas42, she worked at the U.S. Department of State, where she provided policy guidance on humanitarian issues, international labor rights, & HIV/AIDS response. Anne has also managed emergency housing assistance programs for individuals fleeing domestic violence & a multi-country research project focused on challenges facing children in urban poverty in Africa. She holds a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard Kennedy School & a Bachelors in history from the University of Virginia.

Matthew Hankin is an Associate at ideas42. As a member of the New York City Behavioral Design Team (NYC BDT), he has worked across agencies, including the Department of Finance & Administration for Children's Services, to integrate insights from behavioral science into city services. Outside of the BDT, Matthew has worked on projects in early childhood education & health. Prior to joining ideas42, he worked as an Investment Counselor Analyst at HSBC Private Bank. Matthew holds a Bachelors in Economics & Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
