About this Event
In this edition of Building It, Eva will talk to us about how she started her work in education, her experience building an organization that serves 20,000 students & their families, what differentiates Success Academy's approach, & how the network is harnessing technology to conduct remote learning & scale impact.

About the speaker:

A preeminent educator & national leader in education reform, Eva Moskowitz has dedicated her career to advocating for children's futures. She founded Success Academy Charter Schools in 2006 to solve the national education crisis - & empower students across neighborhoods & racial, ethnic, & socioeconomic lines to excel & achieve. Eva began her leadership in education reform as the New York City Council's chair of the Education Committee, where her groundbreaking oversight hearings exposed a deeply dysfunctional system. The experience fueled her commitment to transforming educational outcomes for all children. Eva's work has been widely recognized, including honors from the Manhattan Institute, the Robin Hood Foundation, & the Foundation for Excellence in Education. She is also the author of several books, including Mission Possible & The Education of Eva Moskowitz. Eva earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a PhD in American History from Johns Hopkins University, & holds an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Tufts University.
