Join us on Thursday, January 27 for INDUSTRY INSIDERS: DISTRIBUTION STRATEGISTS as we speak with industry insiders who will give direct tools & tips on how to navigate the current distribution landscape. You'll have a chance to hear their perspective on how to get your projects seen by audiences. Panelists for our first-ever INDUSTRY INSIDERS event are:

Caryn Coleman
The Future of Film Is Female - Film Programmer & Founder
Caryn Coleman is a New York-based film programmer whose work is focused on gender parity in independent film. She's the founder of The Future of Film is Female - an organization that amplifies the work of all women filmmakers through a short film fund, commitment to exhibition, & community building programs - that is also an ongoing screening series at the Museum of Modern Art. She's a longtime programmer at Nitehawk Cinema, having been the Director of Programming/Special Projects, & is the Director of the annual Nitehawk Shorts Festival. Coleman received the 2012 Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Art Writers Initiative grant & has organized panels for the Art House Convergence, Nightstream, Athena Film Festival, Connective Conversations for the Ford Foundation, & CAA. She is a short film advocate, a horror film lover, & Delphine Seyrig superfan.

Alece Oxendine
Columbia University Film Program - Director of Industry & Festival Outreach
Alece Oxendine has dedicated her career to helping emerging independent filmmakers through her work in marketing, social media, partnerships, distribution, & strategy at Film at Lincoln Center, BAMcinmatek, Rooftop Films, Athena Film Festival, Fandor, GoDigital, & Good Deed Entertainment. Her focus is educating filmmakers about digital distribution practices & navigating a difficult, yet rewarding film industry. She currently works in this capacity as the Director of Industry & Festival Outreach at Columbia University's Film Program, where she is an esteemed alumna & serves on the Board of Directors for the Columbia Alumni Association. She is also a proud HBCU graduate of Winston-Salem State University & is committed to serving the Black community through her board position at the Black Film Space. Alece is originally from Durham, NC & has lived in Los Angeles & San Francisco, & is glad to call New York City home again.

Michael Tuckman
mTuckman Media - Owner
Michael Tuckman served as Vice President of Theatrical Sales for THINKFilm, handling Oscar winners & box office smashes including THE ARISTOCRATS, BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD, BORN INTO BROTHELS & TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE. mTuckman media works directly with filmmakers & niche distributors as a theatrical booker. Releases include Rory Kennedy's Academy Award nominated LAST DAYS IN VIETNAM & the Oscar-shortlisted documentaries EX LIBRIS: THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY, DARK MONEY, UNREST, WE COME AS FRIENDS & COMMAND AND CONTROL. Other releases include Frederick Wiseman's last seven films & the Gotham Awards & Cinema Eye Honors nominees DETROPIA & BISBEE 17. Tuckman is a member of the faculty at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College, where he teaches a course on distribution & exhibition.
