Featuring
SVB's former long-time leader Ken Wilcox, author of a new book,The China Business Conundrum, Ensure that Win-Win Doesn't Mean Western Companies Lose Twice.
Ken speaks from experience about how Western innovators, venture investors & dealmakers can master China, & anywhere, actually!
From 2001 to 2011, he ran SVB in Silicon Valley & then spent four years living in Shanghai, leading the technology bank's efforts to set up a joint venture with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. He was not totally prepared for all that happened.
Today, Ken teaches as an Adjunct Professor at U.C. Berkeley & is on the Board of Advisors of the Fudan University School of Management in Shanghai. An author of a prior book, Leading Through Culture (2021), he also writes a blog sharing insights about banking innovative companies & his China adventures.
Additionally, he is honorary chair of the Asia Society in Northern California & a board member of the Asian Art Museum.
Ken earned a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School, as well as a PhD in German studies from Ohio State University.
