Tanya Ivanova is a Research Mathematician at Leverage Research specializing in AI safety. She is interested in symbol grounding/ontology identification problem, value transfer, models of coordination & motivation, mental representations, probabilistic modeling, graph theory & type theory.

This talk will cover the study of control systems that are not artificially created, but instead are present in biology. Tanya will discuss what it means to formalize the qualities of human information processing & contrast that with the architectural specifications of modern machine learning systems to identify avenues for further fundamental research.
