Blockchain Panel: Your Data Should Be Yours
About this Event
Description:

Has the digital age doomed privacy? The increasingly accepted wisdom is that the answer is yes, & thank you for the free Gmail, but that might be starting to change. From Europe to California, regulators are pushing back against the unfettered harvesting of consumer data. At the same time, entrepreneurs are using cryptographic advances, blockchain & other permissioned data approaches to help put people in charge of their personal data-and give them their fair share of their data's value. Join our panel of technologists & entrepreneurs for a discussion about future of personal data-and how the next wave of great technology companies might not own any of our data at all.

Agnes also focuses on investing in early stage startups, where she advises on strategies & connects founders with potential clients & talent.

Most recently, Agnes was Managing Director at ConsenSys, a global formation of technologists building solutions for a blockchain-powered future in the form of over forty early-stage applications, projects, & companies. Agnes led the team charged with ensuring that the vision of the CEO/founder was carried out by the various teams across ConsenSys.

Her years in traditional finance provided her first-hand experience working with many of the world's largest institutions & advising key regulators on strategic challenges. She performed country-wide financial reviews of Ireland & Greece & others for the European Central Bank while part of a special situations team at BlackRock.

At ConsenSys, Agnes' role relied on the maintenance & leverage of strong relationships with those financial institutions, government bodies, & central banks.
