Richard Regitano, Jr / Vice President of Engineering at AvalonBay Communities
Richard is Vice President of Engineering at AvalonBay Communities, an equity REIT in the Business of developing, redeveloping, acquiring & managing apartment communities in leading metropolitan areas. As of December 31, 2020, the Company owned or held a direct or indirect ownership interest in 291 apartment communities containing 86,025 apartment homes in 11 states & the District of Columbia.

Richard leads the national Engineering team that supports multiple aspects of the business including construction, redevelopment, capital projects & building operations. Richard & his team are currently focused on key initiatives including smart building integration & implementation, equipment lifecycle & reliability analysis as well as improving equipment energy performance.




Jeff Hendler / CEO of Logical Buildings
Jeff Hendler serves as Co-Founder, President, & Chief Executive Officer of Energy Technology Savings, DBA Logical Buildings. Logical Buildings is a smart building technology software developer, IoT & DER systems integrator, behavior management, & smart building services provider: integration of our products & services in large multifamily & commercial properties materially reduces energy expenditures, enables Wi-Fi connectivity, improves building operations/fault detection, increases net operating income & net asset value. Our clients are market leaders & are integrating our Smart Building AI Platform services & technologies - increasing NOI & NAV property by property.

Logical Buildings is a first mover technology company digitizing large multifamily & mixed-use properties - - developing smart meter, IoT, & DER data ontologies that power AI semantics that are linked to specific property management activities that significantly lower energy costs, improve work flow productivity, & extract new revenue streams from existing property assets -- we monetize data for clients.

Jeff represents Logical Buildings as Innovation Member of the Smart Cities Counsel & Board Member of Green Button Alliance. He also serves on the executive committee of the National Energy Marketers Association, as their Smart Grid Committee Chairman. In addition, he is an active voting member of the NYISO & PJM wholesale power grids. He also represents ETS as a member of the Consumer Electronics Association, NY Battery Energy Storage, & Clean Energy Business Network.

Jeff is an acting advisor/member of the Wharton Energy Network, & graduate of the Wharton School of Business.


Garret Van Der Boom, Global Director of Business Development - Samsung Build
Garret is an experienced IoT leader with over 10+ years of industry expertise across enterprise & consumer categories. He is currently a Senior Director of Business Development at SmartThings, Samsung's global smart home brand with over 60MM users. At SmartThings, he leads the SmartThings Build business unit, which creates IoT & energy solutions for owner occupied, multifamily, & commercial customers.

Named among the top 100 influential designers of the decade, Corey leads the Sustainability, Smart Spaces, & Strategic Design Consulting Group Practices at Infosys. He has 40 years of experience in industry & consulting providing technology & business leadership experience in strategic design thinking, applied systems design, IoT solutions, sustainability solutions, smart spaces, digital twins, extreme engineering, digital transformation, customer experience strategy, & the use of visualization applied innovation products, processes, & services technology development. Corey is a member WEF council on Pioneer Cities, a program setting global policies for 36 cities around the globe on infrastructure & modernization. He is a member of MIT's Global Technology Advisory Board & a faculty expert guest lecturer with Singularity University

James O'Hagan- VP Business Development, Erda Energy, Program Chair, MITEF NYC
James is a technology entrepreneur & head of business development at Erda Energy where he has championed low carbon solutions for the built environment that utilize the ground as a thermal battery. He is passionate about decarbonizing the built environment & using technology like Erda's to shift our predominately consumptive society into one of equilibrium & symbiosis.
