Stephen Gallagher-on-Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8

This talk will introduce many of the new features available in therecently-released Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. Stephen Gallagher willcover a multitude of topics including Application Streams, ImageBuilder, Insights, container tools (featuring the all-new UniversalBase Image), new security features, Ansible-powered System Roles, theweb console, & the virtual data optimizer.

The talk will provide an overview of each of these features, with afocus on what we mean when we say that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8provides a "faster time to 'Hello World'" for your environment.

There will be plenty of time for questions!

Speaker Bio:-----------------Stephen Gallagher has worn many (red) hats over the past decade. Histime at Red Hat began with developing the System SecurityServices Daemon & associated endeavors such as FreeIPA. He continuedon to collaborate on many other open-source projects, includingCockpit, SSCG, OpenLMI, rolekit, OpenShift and, most recently, Red HatEnterprise Linux 8 Application Streams. Stephen is a long-timecontributor to the Fedora Project, having served on several of itsleadership committees. He currently sits on the Fedora EngineeringSteering Committee (FESCo) as well as the chair of the Fedora ServerWorking Group.
