Join us for an official Climate Week side event hosted by Consulate General of Finland in New York & Business Finland. Our program explores low carbon built environment through the lens of policy, technology, neuroscience, & investment.
The program also showcases cutting-edge solutions for decarbonizing buildings in both Finland & the United States.

In New York City, buildings account for approximately two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions. America's largest city is committed to transforming its existing skyline into high performance low carbon buildings. Finland is eager to support with its expertise in energy efficiency, low-carbon materials, & digital infrastructure for buildings.

For whom: Built environment industry leaders (Architects, building owners, engineers, & construction managers), sustainability & subject-matter-experts, representatives from city, state, & federal agencies

Opening remarks & introduction of Finnish organizations including Halton, Phononic, Vilpe, Oilon, Uponor, & iLOQ.

Setting the scene by Kristen Edgreen Kaufman, Deputy Commissioner of Public Private Partnerships & Economic Development, NYC Mayor's Office for International Affairs.

Presentation on the green building landscape in Finland by the City of Helsinki & Aalto University.

Discussion on Climate Investing & The Green Transition led by Davida Heller, Head of Sustainability Strategy at Citi.

Panel I: Clean Heating & Cooling in the US & Finland.
Panel II: The Brain Economy & the Built Environment.
Panel III: Digital Infrastructure in Buildings.

Panelists include representatives from NYSERDA, The Clean Fight, Urban Systems, Perkins & Will, HKS, Rice University & innovative Finnish companies.

Closing remarks by Jarmo Sareva, Consul General, Ambassador, Consulate General of Finland in New York.
