Welcome to 2021, the year we continue to meet virtually. That's not such a bad thing actuallythe community has grown beyond New York as a result!
This month's meetup is a testament to that: one speaker is based in New York, the other in San Francisco. Both make fitness hardware, something we've heard about in the past from Brynn Putnam of Mirror & Maureen Coiro of Peloton Interactive. We'll hear from Peloton again this month.
Heres the rough agenda for the evening:
7:00 - 7:10pm "Arrival"
7:10 - 7:20pm Welcome + notes
7:20 - 8:00pm Michael Valente, Senior Systems Engineer at Tonal (https://www.tonal.com/). Michael is an engineer working to empower people through the creation of useful tools & products. He'll share the journey of bringing the Tonal gym from initial concept to mass production & lessons learned along the way.
8:00 - 8:40pm Alfred Jones, Head of Mechanical Engineering at Peloton Interactive (https://www.onepeloton.com). Alfred is an experienced engineering leader with a diverse background spanning consumer electronics to autonomous vehicles. He'll discuss why he's writing his next chapter at Peloton & why he's on a mission to build the best hardware team in NYC.
