Talk 1: Unbounded Concurrency
Go concurrency mechanism is one of the language's most attractive features. Too much of it can get you in trouble, however. Using nothing but our wits & the Go standard library, we will build an increasingly sophisticated port scanner to help us learn how best to take advantage of Gos concurrency capabilities & how to avoid some of its pitfalls.
Bio: Johnny Boursiquot is a multi-disciplined software engineer with a love for teaching & community-building. He is the founder & organizer of the Baltimore Go User Group & has served as an organizer of both the Boston Ruby User Group & the Boston Go User Group. He stays busy as a speaker, trainer, podcast host, & diversity advocate within the Go community through GoBridge. He is currently a Site Reliability Engineer at Salesforces Heroku.
