Jeff Peters, Partner, AutoTech Ventures
Jeff Peters is a partner at AutoTech Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm with a mission to solve the world's ground transport challenges with technology, Jeff brings to Autotech wide-ranging engineering, economics, & investing expertise in the transportation industry & beyond. He has a passion for partnering with startups that have defensible business models backed by strong founder-market fit - especially expert founders bent on deploying novel technology in under-served market segments.
Jeff previously studied infrastructure networks as complex systems while a research fellow at Stanford. Prior to Stanford, he conducted independent transportation research for the US Congress & began his career as an aerospace engineer at Northrop Grumman Space Technology. He has published several academic articles on mathematical optimization applied to transportation & energy systems.
Jeff has a PhD in Applied Economics, MS in Economics, MSE in Transportation Engineering from Purdue University - where he co-founded TEDxPurdueU, & BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
He has worked on a '74 Duster, sold new & used cars, climbed several 14ers', trekked to Everest Base Camp, & tested an experiment in zero-gravity onboard NASA's Vomit Comet.
Martin Rudigier, Principal, HELLA Ventures
Martin Rudigier is a principal at HELLA Ventures, the venture capital arm of German automotive supplier HELLA. He invests in early- & mid-stage stage companies tackling problems in one of these focus areas: automated / autonomous driving, electrification, manufacturing, industrial IoT, & enterprise SaaS.
Martin brings to HELLA Ventures more than 10 years of experience working at the intersection of Germany's auto industry & Silicon Valley's tech ecosystem-both as an operator & investor. Prior to HELLA Ventures, Martin was Vice President of Finance & Business Operations at Apex.AI, where he raised more than $20M in venture capital from top tier financial & strategic investors & helped the company scale from 5 to 30+ employees. Before Apex.AI, he advised Daimler's Board of Management & Supervisory Board on multibillion-euro M&A deals & strategic opportunities, consulted DAX30 clients at McKinsey, & was part of the investment team at Autotech Ventures, a transportation-focused venture capital firm with $270M+ in AUM.
Martin has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business & an MS in Environment & Resources from Stanford University. He also holds a BA in International Business from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, where he graduated as Valedictorian.
Outside of work, Martin is passionate about education equality & has helped 100s of students gain admission to the world's top universities. In addition, he is a PADI Rescue Diver & involved in various marine conservation efforts in the Caribbean.
Alex LI, Principal, Modern Venture Partners
Alex Li is a principal at Modern Venture Partners (MVP) - a venture firm based in Menlo Park, CA. He invests in early-stage startups across several focus areas: AI/ML, robotics, transportation/logistics, IoT, enterprise SaaS, & fintech.
Alex has nearly a decade of experience working with technology & transportation companies, as an advisor, operator, & investor. Prior to MVP, Alex worked at several autonomous vehicle companies, including Cruise ($30B+ valuation) & Voyage (acquired by Cruise). Alex was also a management consultant at Kearney.
Alex has an MBA/MS from Stanford University & a BCom/BA from the University of Auckland. Beyond work, Alex is passionate about economic empowerment. He founded a microfinance charity (Auckland Microfinance Initiative) & has worked with microfinance institutions in Bangladesh & the Pacific Islands.
