*** Full Length Talk: HASH.ai - An Agent-Based Simulation Platform built in Rust ***
This will be a talk in three parts: 1) A demo of our HASH.ai private beta, showing off some simulations & speaking to the motivation behind what we're building. 2) A dive into our core simulation engine & an architectural tour of how we brought it to life in Rust. 3) Why choosing Rust was a core business decision for our startup -- how that choice has impacted our startup life, our product build, our hiring, & why we wouldn't have it any other way. I'll close with a general Q&A that we can use to go deeper into any of these topics.
Jude Allred is the CoFounder & CTO at HASH.ai, an almost-1-year-old startup working to bring Agent-Based Modeling into the mainstream of simulation (much like what Google did for Machine Learning 10 years ago). We've got 10 people, our core engine is in Rust, & we're hiring Rust engineers. Before co-founding HASH, Jude served as CTO at Fog Creek Software where he contributed alongside engineers building StackOverflow & Trello, then lead product incubation efforts culminating in the creation of Glitch. Fog Creek Software is now Glitch
