About this Event
Join us for a virtual night of learning about "Pivoting your business during the global pandemic". The conversation will be around successful pivot stories, tactics, strategies & planning for 2021. We will also have some networking sessions.
Panelists:
1. Alexa Binns - Investor on Jesse Draper's team at Halogen Ventures
Alexa Binns is an investor with a talent for spotting the latest consumer trends & technology. She is on Jesse Draper's team at Halogen Ventures where they invest in the top consumer technology startups with female founders. Previously Alexa was at Maven Ventures, another seed stage venture fund focused on consumer tech.
Alexa has an impressive track record as a startup consultant, consumer marketer, & angel investor with first hand experience bringing brands to market to achieve massive scale. She launched the Cheeky brand with Target, as well as two national public health campaigns with MTV, Walgreens, & the NBA. Alexa's specialty is deploying the latest marketing techniques: she wrote her master's thesis on how to build a brand on YouTube, was nominated for a Mashable Award for social media marketing with Foursquare, & helped sell the Twitch influencer marketing platform NoScope.
Alexa graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford with a degree in public health & has her MBA from UCLA Anderson. She's an angel investor in Chubbies, Flex, Mented, Sana Benefits, Chipper Cash, among others.
2. Natasia Malaihollo - Head of Business Development for PopCom
$3.3 M raised from angels/VC's, Techstars & a crowd-equity campaign on StartupEngine
Natasia Malaihollo is the Head of Business Development for PopCom, a tech company that builds software for automated retail. At PopCom, Natasia leads sales & client-relation management, tracks new markets & emerging trends, & develops strategic partnerships to guide long-term business objectives. Prior to PopCom, Natasia was the co-founder of Wyzerr, a tech company that gammifies surveys. At Wyzerr, Natasia grew its' customer base to over 2,100 small & large businesses in 42 countries in less than 2 years, & counts Google, Facebook, P&G, Unilever, Walmart, & Disney as clients. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Natasia was a patent specialist in Washington, D.C. & Silicon Valley.
3. Mahbod Moghadam - Internet Entrepreneur & Investor
Mahbod Moghadam is an internet entrepreneur & investor. He is the founder of Genius - an app annotating the meaning of lyrics - & Everipedia, which is the "chill" version of Wikipedia. Mahbod is Iranian but was born in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of Yale University & Stanford Law School & is an accomplished pianist. He is currently angel investing & looking to build a third app in Brooklyn.
