Startup Pitching - eMedevents

eMedEvents operates an online database of medical conferences, conducts conferences & helps in promoting other medical events additionally the company also offers flight, hotel & car rental services. eMedEvents made $0.68 million in revenue during 2019 & $1.03 million in 2020, it saw a 51.4% revenue growth & expecting to generate revenue of $5.59 million in 2021 & reach up to $337.89 million in next 5 years.

1. Maxine Kozler - Co-Managing Director at LDR Ventures

Maxi is the Co-Managing Director of LDR Ventures, a Los Angeles based female led venture capital firm. Maxi's expertise includes: early-stage capital raising, deal structuring & deal syndication, strategies for growth & scaling around marketing. She has experience in entertainment, intellectual property, licensing, branding, marketing & PR/social media. She invests in & advises founders at the angel & seed stages to grow their businesses from proof of concept stage to full use of their capitalization.

Investments & Advisory roles include: Thrive Market, sweetgreen, Territory Foods, junzi kitchens, Shaka Tea, Sourse, Moku, Hyperice & Parachute Home.

Maxi also gives her time to the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Advisory Council at Cal Poly University, as an Executive & VC in residence at the Hot House Incubator at Cal Poly, as a Pod Leader for Declare (fka Parity Partners) & as a mentor for SheWorx & the Black Girls Making Millions Academy founded by Mahisha Dillenger of Curls.

In addition to investing, Maxi spearheads events in LA, SF & NYC with other female investors to teach women how to invest at the Angel & Seed levels in order to address the funding disparity of capital that goes to Female Founders.

2. David Segura - Investor & Entrepreneur

David Segura is an accomplished Entrepreneur & Investor with experience in a wide variety of industry verticals including Media, FinTech, & Consumer categories among others. He is currently the CEO of Glassbox Media, a New York based podcast company.

David has developed a reputation for being a Founder Friendly investor who adds value to company operations. A cross selection of current investments include Eaze, Grove Collaborative, Hawthorne, UsageAI, & many more.

He also previously founded Giant Media, where he served as the CEO from launch through acquisition. The company was an early Video Advertising exchange that included Toyota, American Express, L'Oreal, & Dollar Shave Club among others. Launched in 2009, Giant Media was successfully acquired in 2014 by Adknowledge, an AdTech platform funded by TPG Growth, JMI, & Nokia. David is also a proud graduate of the University of Chicago.

3. Jacqueline Bennett - Managing Partner at Highlands Venture Partners

Jacqueline's career spans multiple disciplines & geographies, including private equity, investment banking, & operations. Over the past two years, Jacqueline has invested in & advised dozens of companies & teams in emerging categories. Before co-founding Highlands Venture Partners, she was a Director at Sands Lane Capital, a venture capital firm focused on investing in cannabis, hemp & ancillary companies. At Sands Lane she was responsible for fund formation, originating investments & general management. Prior to Sands Lane, she launched the East Coast arm of ELLO Capital, a cannabis investment bank, where she built & lead a team to source & execute transactions.

She previously worked at J.P. Morgan's Investment Bank in New York where she advised early stage disruptive companies & consumer & retail clients on private placements, M&A, leveraged buyouts & IPOs & was selected for key internal leadership initiatives including technology innovation & resource management. Prior to this, she spent two years at Credit Suisse in private equity coverage & three years in San Francisco leading strategic & finance efforts at Viator, a venture funded high growth ecommerce company that was acquired by TripAdvisor. Jacqueline started her career as an equity capital markets analyst at Babcock & Brown, a leading merchant bank, in Sydney.
