With AI technology like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Bard, Midjourney, Dall-E, & many others will play an increasingly large role in our day-to-day lives. Finance will continue to be transformed by it, & more people learn & harness the fundamentals every day. To this end, New York AI Users will host at the Bryant Park-adjacent, beautiful startup HQ of EdTech & AI firm Merlyn Mind! Merlyn will also provide free pizza & drinks! From the creators & organizers of New York Tech & Beer, New York AI Users is partnering with Merlyn Mind to create high-quality AI events that both educate & connect AI enthusiasts in the New York area who use or want to use AI to meet their creative, entrepreneurial, & technical aspirations. No technical background is required, only an interest in learning about these tools of the future.
For our ninth meeting, we will gather at Merlyn Mind HQ on the south edge of Bryant Park in midtown, & we will host:
Talks on AI:
Our first talk will be by Sabri Monaf, who will explore the current landscape of Large Language Models (LLMs), teaching the basics of how these models function, & examining both open-source & closed-source offerings. We'll then dive into the tools & techniques that empower you to harness the full potential of these models, opening a world of possibilities in AI-powered applications. Sabri is a software & machine learning engineer with over decade in experience & a Master's in AI. He primarily serves as a Senior ML Engineer at Kiva, working to expand financial services to underserved communities, & also leads tech initiatives at AI Dojo, focusing on advancing the AI landscape in Iraq.
Next, we'll hear from Logan Weaver, who will share his thoughts on AI/ML in finance & breaks down what the future of AI in finance could look like. Logan Weaver is the founder & CEO of Surmount AI, a Techstars alumni, & WBJ 25 Under 25.
