This month we Have J.J. Allaire, the Founder of RStudio (https://www.rstudio.com/), talking about keras (https://keras.rstudio.com/) for deep learning in R.

Thank you to AWS Loft for hosting us.

We have also opened up registration for the 2018 New York R Conference (https://www.rstats.nyc)! Use code nyhackr (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-2018-new-york-r-conference-tickets-42341112407?discount=nyhackr) for a 20% discount. Check out www.rstats.nyc for more information.

About the Talk:

TensorFlow (https://www.tensorflow.org/) is an open-source software library for numerical computation using data flow graphs. TensorFlow was originally developed by researchers & engineers working on the Google Brain Team within Google's Machine Intelligence research organization for the purposes of conducting machine learning & deep neural networks research, but the system is general enough to be applicable in a wide variety of other domains as well. In this talk we'll cover the R interface to TensorFlow (https://tensorflow.rstudio.com), a suite of packages that provide high-level interfaces to both deep learning models (Keras) & standard regression & classification models (Estimators), as well as tools for cloud training, experiment management, & production deployment.

About J.J.:

J.J. Allaire is the Founder of RStudio & the creator of the RStudio IDE. J.J. is the author of the R interfaces to TensorFlow & Keras.

Pizza (https://nyhackr.org/pizzapoll.html) begins at 6:30, the talk starts at 7, then after we head to the local bar.
