This program focuses on decarbonization as a systems optimization challenge. Design professionals often engage in decisions about energy through the lens of equipment specs & energy models. While useful, the demand side often dominates. This program pulls the camera back to show the full stack: how electricity is generated, moved, managed, & ultimately consumed, & the opportunities that arise as buildings are increasingly transactive participants in the energy system.
Agenda:
Part one: The Grid You Didn't (need to) Learn in Studio
Part two: The Technology Toolbox
Part three: The Shift: Buildings as Grid Assets
Part four: Case Studies & Design Decisions
Closing: A Framework for Thinking
Speakers:
To be announced
Organized by
