First Talk Description:
Taming Dependency Graphs: Lessons from a 14-Year-Old iOS Codebase
by Victoria Ono

As iOS apps grow over the years, managing dependencies becomes just as important as building new features. Understanding what depends on what, how new changes affect the codebase, & how to maintain architectural boundaries are challenges that every large engineering team eventually faces.
In this talk, Victoria will share how Snapchat iOS codebase has evolved through the lens of their dependency injection frameworks. She'll cover what dependency graphs are, how they help reason about relationships across a large codebase, & how their approach to dependency injection has evolved to address the challenges that come with scale. Along the way, she'll talk about the architectural decisions behind that evolution & the lessons they have learned about managing complexity as applications grow.

Victoria is an iOS engineer at Snap on the Maps team. Her recent work has focused on modernizing dependency injection within Maps & across the iOS codebase.

Second Talk Description:
The Soft Skills Nobody Taught You
by Mani Ramezan

There's a lot of advice out there on how to prep for interviews & land your dream job. But there's far less on how to actually succeed once you're in it-how to navigate promotions & annual reviews.

Mani remembers the days that Interface Builder was a separate app than Xcode. He is a Tech Lead at Capital One, previously working at LinkedIn, Amazon, & Zocdoc.
