DETAILS

As artificial intelligence accelerates creative output & challenges our notions of truth, we find ourselves asking a deeper question: What role does humanity play when machines can create?

On May 5, join us for an intimate evening hosted by Harlowe at the Chief Clubhouse in Union Square, where we'll explore this question through the lens of powerful voices at the forefront of visual culture & emerging technology:

Brandon Ruffin, interdisciplinary artist & creative technologist at Google, has spent years pushing the boundaries of storytelling through image, code, & cultural narrative.

Artemis Moshtaghian, Reporter & Senior Producer at CNN, brings a frontline perspective on visual truth & global media coverage in an increasingly AI-assisted world.

Together, in a moderated conversation, they will explore the human questions AI forces us to confront:

What does authenticity mean when the line between real & rendered is increasingly blurred?
Can efficiency ever serve intention in the creative process?
How do we preserve memory, representation, & provenance in this rapidly shifting visual era?

BRANDON RUFFIN

Brandon Ruffin is an Oakland-based photographer & filmmaker whose work explores identity, memory, & the human condition through photography & film. In addition to his fine art practice, Ruffin works in Research for computational photography at Google, contributing to the creative & technical development of the Pixel camera & Photos App -where artistic vision meets Artificial Intelligence. His work spans image aesthetics, data curation, & prompt engineering, shaping how AI understands & generates imaging output.
