The real estate market is complex & has recently evolved to heavily incorporate advancements in tech. Real estate has a rich history in New York, with a long legacy of companies & firms on the scene, making real estate startups different from startups in other spaces.

About the speakers

Richard Sarkis is CEO & co-founder of Reonomy, a property intelligence platform. Since the company's founding in 2013, Sarkis has been instrumental in raising $128 million in venture capital & led Reonomy through a successful web-application launch in New York City, as well as the launch of a second nationwide application in 2017. An avid entrepreneur, Sarkis has launched numerous companies, including an international arbitrage textbook company, a college marketing network & an offshore tech company.
Britt Zaffir is the CEO of Kin, the first-of-its-kind housing brand designing & operating real estate to meet the changing needs of modern families. Britt started her career at Monitor Deloitte consulting for world-class hospitality companies before transitioning into formative roles at Airbnb, helping to develop localized strategies around marketing & operations analysis, & Amcor Holdings, a Canadian real estate investment & management firm. Prior to starting Kin, Britt spent three years as a senior real estate acquisitions lead at Common, working with real estate partners to expand Common's coliving footprint across the East Coast. In 2019, Britt spearheaded the creation of Kin, a joint venture between Common & Tishman Speyer, securing its first-ever family-focused residential buildings in Long Island City & other markets, to be announced later this year. Today, she oversees every aspect of Kin's operations, from growth to product development. Britt graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School & an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. She lives in New York City & loves to travel, trying delicious foods in new cities.
