About Sumeet Shah (VC in Residence, Galvanize NYC)
Sumeetassists members with fundraising advice & guidanceas the VC in Residence at the New York City campus of Galvanize, an 8-campus strong community making education & growth accessible to anyone - especially underrepresented groups in the tech industry.Prior to Galvanize, Sumeet was theChief Strategy Officer at the US division of NewsPicks, a refined news experience where content is picked by experts & thought-leaders. The platform was designed to bring users the most important stories with commentary from trusted experts across the world.
Before NewsPicks,Sumeet handled sourcing & new investments as a Principal at Brand Foundry Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm focused on low-tech & high-tech consumer products & devices. Overall, he has over 9 years of experience across the startup & private equity industries, formerly running new business strategies at Gist Digital & handling business development & project work at Gotham Consulting Partners. He also assisted in the creation of XRC Labs, a consumer & retail accelerator run by Kurt Salmon & Parsons, as the Program Manager for their inaugural class & Head of Strategic Partnerships for their second class.
Sumeet graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering, where he specialized in Biomechanics.

6:15pm - Begin check in to meeting point (generally in front of Whole Foods Chelsea)
6:40pm - Event start & discussion with enroute to a local food hall
7:15pm - Arrival to Food Hall Destination, activity & collaborations, curated connections
