AI technology like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Claude, Midjourney & many others will play an increasingly large role in our day-to-day lives. To this end, New York AI Users will host our monthly tech talks & social gathering at Viam's office in Midtown. Viam is an engineering platform for data, AI, and. automation. They will graciously provide free drinks & food for the event. The space & accommodations will be perfect for our talks & the social that follows.
From the creators & organizers of New York Tech & Beer, New York AI Users organizes high-quality AI events that both educate & connect AI enthusiasts in the New York area who use or want to use AI to meet their creative, entrepreneurial, & technical aspirations. No technical background is required, only an interest in learning about these tools of the future. Founders, engineers, & creatives are all welcome!
For our March meeting, we will gather at Viam & we will host:
Talks on AI:
For our first talk, we will hear from Sudheer Gaddipati, who will discuss how Machine Learning & LLMs complement each other. Have you ever wondered whether to use ML or LLM for your use case? This talk unpacks how they're built, how they are trained, & where they fit best. We will touch on architectures, real-world uses, & how these things work together. Sudheer will describe how models like DeepSeek & GPT/Grok3 leverage ML & LLMs to power their capabilities. Sudheer has over 25 years of experience in software engineering, with a background in Computer Science Engineering & a Post Graduate Program in AI & Machine Learning. His work spans the entire Software Engineering Lifecycle (SEL) & DevOps, driving large-scale enterprise technology initiatives, system optimizations, & automation efforts. With a strong foundation in software engineering & AI, he focuses on seamlessly integrating AI into existing systems, ensuring it delivers practical value while complementing human expertise.
For our second talk, we will hear from Xavier Huang about how to effectively increase the accuracy of Gen AI's response by fine tuning the model. Xavier will touch on the different factors we need to consider when we fine tune an LLM. The talk will center around how users can improve the accuracy of these models over time. Xavier is the founder of Manditutors.com & theaitutors.com, has been programming for over 10 years, & specializes in AL & ML. He is passionate about innovating education with technology.
After the talks, there will be social time with the attendees & the speakers for the remainder of the evening, with free drinks & food
We're excited to see you soon!
Note: There will be no refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of the event
