Chris Apfel, MD, PhD, MBA
Dr. Chris Apfel is the President & CEO of SageMedic Corp. He co-founded SageMedic with his wife, Dr. Brigitte Apfel, after several of their family members were touched by cancer. Chris is a physician-scientist, board member, & an active angel investor & of over a dozen early stage life-science companies. He is recognized as an international authority on designing, conducting, & publishing clinical trials that have changed medical practice. For example, he is the developer of the Apfel Score, a standard tool that has changed clinical practice world-wide. He is a California-licensed physician & received his MD & his doctoral degree in medical sciences from the University of Giessen, Germany, & his MBA from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
