Can better data save lives during extreme heat?
Join NYSERDA & ICF for a dynamic, hands-on Heat Vulnerability Datathon during Climate Week NYC. Bringing together data innovators, researchers, community organizations, policymakers, & members of the public, this collaborative event will explore how data can help protect New Yorkers from one of the fastest-growing climate threats.
Participants will identify critical gaps in our understanding of heat impacts on vulnerable populations & design innovative solutions to fill those gaps. Come connect with fellow problem-solvers, uncover new insights, & contribute ideas that can help drive more equitable & resilient communities across New York State.
A rough agenda is below:
45 minutes: Welcome, Overview, & Activity Orientation
60 minutes: Design Sprint #1
30 minutes: Food Break + Speaker
60 minutes: Design Sprint #2
45 minutes: Participant Pitches & Wrap-Up
