PANEL DISCUSSION

From production & distribution to sales & advertisements, the beverage industry has historically been dominated by men.

Female founders Jen Batchelor (Kin Euphorics), Alix Peabody (Bev), Hilary McCain (Sweet Reason), & Gina Correll Aglietti (Yola Mezcal) are challenging & redefining the landscape with powerful alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverage brands that resonate with female consumers.

Join Female Founders Fund for our quarterly panel series to hear how these founders are changing the way the alcohol industry speaks to & about women, how their companies are building a more inclusive, respectful drinking culture, & their views on where the future of beverages is headed.

CO-FOUNDER & CEO, KIN EUPHORICS

Jen Batchelor

Jen Batchelor is here to reverse engineer the social libation business, recipe to ritual. A career start in investor relations & fashion PR, followed by a personal tragedy & a newfound passion for transcendental meditation & nutrition, brought her to the launch of her second business. This next venture bridged wellness & travel by bringing technology, product, & community-building events to the world of hospitality. She met Matthew Cauble, now co-founder, & Kin Euphorics was born. Jen believes all people have the right to seek bliss & communion over shared drinks & interests, without fear of poisoning their brains, bodies, or spirits.

FOUNDER & CEO, BEV

Alix Peabody

At 24 years old, Alix was experiencing life-altering health issues & had to come up with cash for medical bills, so she started throwing ticketed pool parties that quickly became a Bay Area favorite. She became addicted to bringing people together with the energy of those events - the female-dominated atmosphere made for a better time for all, men included. Thus the mission & ethos of Bev were born - long before the product itself - to recreate this joy on a grand scale through a company centered around empowerment & fun. Alix's dream is to build a brand that challenges a male-dominated industry, changes the status quo in product offerings & distribution, & builds a strong, like-minded community centered around celebrating ourselves & one another.

CO-FOUNDER & CEO, YOLA MEZCAL

Gina Correll Aglietti

Gina was born in Ojai, California into a music industry family & has worked as a consultant & stylist for luxury brands throughout her career, with clients like Adele, Haim, YSL, The Rza, Nike, Acne. Gina teamed up with her two co-founders, Yola Jimenez & Lykke Li, to create a beverage that offers more than just a clean, balanced taste with that familiar smoky kick (akin to tequila's more sophisticated, older cousin). Yola Mezcal is dedicated to traditional making methods & not only paying the workers in Mexico a fair wage, but employing only women at their bottling facility in Oaxaca -- creating more opportunities for economic independence in the area.

FOUNDER & CEO, SWEET REASON

Hilary McCain

Hilary started Sweet Reason after years of obsession with the connection between food, health & wellness. After discovering the health benefits of hemp CBD, she became passionate about making this powerful plant extract available to people through beverage. Hilary sought out to create a CBD sparkling water that she could drink all day, everyday - that was truly healthy, effective & delicious. Hilary's background is in the food industry, including time at Chobani, Maple Leaf Foods & the Boston Consulting Group. She has her MBA from Harvard Business School & her HBA from Ivey Business School.
