About this workshop:
Join Evan Bienstock, a seasoned startup & venture capital lawyer in NYC of 17 years, where he will sit down & discuss, in detail, a typical venture capital term sheet. He will take the group through the key terms, discuss traps for the unwary, places to push back, & provide general insight on the process of getting your business funded by venture capital. He'll also provide dozens of real-life examples to frame his discussion & answer any questions the group may have.
Meet Your Instructor:
Evan Bienstock provides counsel & guidance to companies in all stages of their life cycles, from the seed of an idea to its execution & funding, & eventual exit. He works closely with founders, investors, boards & entrepreneurs across a wide range of technologies.
With a home in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood (a nexus for many tech startups), Evan's roots are firmly planted in the NYC startup community. He has handled & negotiated hundreds of venture capital & private equity financings for those providing & seeking capital. Evan is also well versed in corporate governance, securities laws, & mergers & acquisitions, & regularly advises clients through complex exit transactions.
In addition to his work for the firm, Evan often serves as a mentor to the startup community - writing, speaking & leading seminars on legal & business issues for various groups, incubators & accelerators in & around NYC
