EVENT DETAILS
We miss you, & are bringing back civic hack nights to NYC. This time, we're doing this a bit differently.

Join us for a monthly project night to demystify technology, data, & design. Hack nights are for technologists, designers, developers, data scientists, map makers, civil servants, & activists who are working on "civic technology" projects. Consider this to be community office hours to improve you & the city.

Grab your internet connected device that can plug into a zoom meeting, connect your power supply, grab a headset & notepad. Note - we will be using zoom to host these meetups & for presenters to share their screens. Therefore, you might want a larger screen.

Hack nights are for you to:
* learn about open source civic tech projects,
* get inspired to start a new project,
* get feedback from your neighbors, or
* learn about tools, data sets, or design practices for local empowerment, open data, & open government.

This month's presenters:
* Intro.nyc - an alternative interface to New York City Council's API < https://legistar.council.nyc.gov/Calendar.aspx > presented by Jehiah Czebotar.
* Testingsites.nyc & testinglines.nyc - alternative interfaces to NYC's covid-19 testing finder & wait times websites presented by Ellie Frymire & Chris Barna.
* WeGovNYC - this databook project normalizes NYC Open Data & lets people build tools off of that normalized presented by Devin Balkind.
* Blockparty.studio - a tool working to make Community Board meetings more accessible would be presented by Sarah Sachs.
