EVENT DETAILS |
The NYPD is already using facial recognition software to aid its investigations, Taylor Swift uses it at her concerts to check for stalkers, & New York state schools are considering using it as a tool to protect against school shootings. What other applications will facial recognition allow? And what will the social ramifications be when your physical identity is public property?
We'll dive into the issue with a panel of experts, each of whom brings a distinctly different viewpoint. On the panel will be:
Jonathan Stribling-Uss, technologist fellow,New York Civil Liberties Union (ACLU of NY)
Assistant Chief Jason Wilcox,NYPD Detective Bureau
Nasir Memon, professor of computer science at NYU Tandon School of Engineering
Noah Levenson, technologist & artist with the Mozilla Foundation
This will be a half-hour long discussion & Q&A, leaving plenty of time to enjoy some food & drinks, & to meet some fascinating people in Brooklyn.
With many thanks to our Keystone Sponsor: NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
