Description

We would like to invite fashion and tech entrepreneurs that are engaged in a start-up, meet-up or discussion group concerning fashion and technology. Hearst Media has partnered with Fashion+TechNY and Thirdwave Fashion to invite their members to the meet-up and discuss relevant topics on a panel at the exquisite Hearst Tower.

Space is very limited. Our aim is to discuss relevant fashion technology topics, trends, best practices, resources and challenges.

  • Liza Kindred/ Founder of Third Wave Fashion (Moderator) @3rdwavewfashion

Liza was born to found Third Wave Fashion and it only took 10 years in the fashion industry, six years in the technology world, and that knowledge that comes from working with dozens of businesses to get ready for it. A passionate believer in open business, Lizas last stint was as Managing Partner at a successful web development & education company, where she took the company from 2 guys to a 30 person team with multi-million dollar revenues and a client roster that includes Grammy.com,MarthStewart.com, and MTV.co.uk.

  • David Goldberg/ Founder & CEO of FreshNeck @freshneck @davidgoldberg

David Goldberg is the founder and CEO of FreshNeck.com, an online, subscription-based, men's accessories exchange service. Launched December of 2012, FreshNeck has been described as Netflix for ties, bow ties, pocket squares, and cufflinks. Before leaving the corporate world to run FreshNeck full-time, David practiced law as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, NY. He then transitioned to finance, where he worked in the Private Wealth Group's at Merrill Lynch and Jefferies & Co. David graduated from the University of Miami in 2003 with a degree in Marketing, and received his JD/MBA from Fordham in 2007.

  • Jill Sherman/ CEO & Co-Founder of Modalyst @modalyst

Jill Sherman, CEO and Co-Founder of Modalyst, spend over 11 years working in luxury fashion. Most recently she was running the Miu Miu Visual Department at Prada USA and Asia Pacific, accountable for the strategic development of the brand's image and expansion within all boutique and wholesale accounts throughout the United States and Asia. Prior to Prada, Jill worked at Harvey Nichols managing the Buying Team, at Vogue Magazine as a Fashion Assistant in the Accessories Department, and at Italian Vogue as a Stylist Assistant on the photoshoots. Jill has lived in Asia for 5 years and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and BA from Tufts University.

  • Melissa Fudor / Marketing Director of inSparq @inSparq

Melissa Fudor is currently the Marketing Director for inSparq, a social commerce technology company. She is also the Chair of the Operations Committee at Women in Wireless HQ in New York City, where she has grown the organisation to 4,000 members in less than two years. A believer in social innovation, Melissa spent her earlier career developing communication and marketing strategies for non-profits like the Greenbelt Foundation and 9Health. She holds a BA in History from York University in Toronto.

  • Michael Rosom / CEO of Eye On Response

With over 20 years of interactive marketing experience spanning just about every type of interactive media, Michael Rowsom brings a unique perspective to interactive fashion marketing. Prior to founding EyeonResponse, michael was one of the key team members at 24/7 Media where, as part of the executive team, he helped build the company through a series of acquisitions. Additionally Michael started 24/7 Mail which he lead from its infancy through its hyper-growth stage to become the largest email marketing company of its time. Earlier in his career Michael was an early adopter of interactive media working at Hearst and IAC. Michael lives in Brooklyn and works at the EyeonResponse offices in DUMBO.

  • Sabine Seymour/ CCO of Moondial, Inc. | @fashionabletech

In her research Dr. Seymour focuses on "the next generation wearables" and the intertwining of aesthetics and function. She is described as being an innovator, visionary, trend setting, holistic in her approach, and a lateral thinker. She authored the successful books "Fashionable Technology, The Intersection of Design, Fashion, Science, and Technology" and "Functional Aesthetics" and is an editorial review board member for the International Journal of Mobile Human Computer Interaction and The Journal of Textile Design Research and Practice. Dr. Seymour serves as adviser and jury member for many internationally renowned institutions and conferences. She has received numerous grants and awards and was awarded the Michael Kalil Endowment for Smart Design Fellowship in 2010. She received a PhD and MSc in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Economics in Vienna and Columbia University in New York and an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYUS Tisch School of the Arts in New York.Currently Dr. Seymour chairs the project Computational Fashion at Eyebeam funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, curates the MAK Fashion Lab at the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, is a researcher with the project CHEMARTS, and is the Chief Creative Officer of her company Moondial.MOONDIAL is the nexus between silicon and style. We regard our body as a node in a networked (digital) system and the skin as metaphor to conceive computational fashion. We invent, forecast, and consult on technology infused experiences and products for our clients ranging from Siemens, VF Corporation, to General Electric.

  • Vale Kerbage / Founder & CEO of Leechee NY @Leecheeny

Vale is a distinguished French designer and entrepreneur. With formal education in fine arts and graphic design, Vale worked as an art director for top powerhouse companies in Paris including Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, Euro RSCG and PPR Group. After years of experience in the design and advertising field, Vale moved to New York City and started LEECHEE in September 2009 combining her creativity with great business savvy -- Offering a wide variety of couture design services ranging from ad campaign development to e-commerce solutions. Most recently, LEECHEE started an in house online magazine, Lively Magazine, focusing on fashion, design, art, and architecture.
