Mammalian metabolism comprises thousands of interconnected metabolites that fuel cellular & organismal life. How most of these metabolites/nutrients are transported into & around our cells is unknown. This talk will highlight new approaches to tackle this knowledge gap & highlight how discoveries in nutrient transport can advance our understanding of metabolism, physiology, & disease.
Bio:
Tim Kenny, PhD is a molecular & cellular biologist who studies nutrient transport & metabolism. His work focuses on discovering novel components of metabolic pathways & understanding their relevance in mammalian physiology & disease. He is currently a NIDDK K99 Postdoctoral Fellow at The Rockefeller University & is opening his laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in January 2026.
