THE POSITION:

FanDuel Group is looking for a Business Development Manager for its Strategic Partnerships Team to secure market access partnerships for the FanDuel brand in high-priority states on track to legalize sports betting. The Business Development Manager will also work cross-functionally with other teams in the company to maximize the value of the partnership for both FanDuel & the partner, including identifying new business opportunities to enhance & extend the partnership.

THE GAME PLAN:
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Work with Finance, Commercial, & Government Affairs teams, to prospect for new market access partnerships with a premium on landing specific partners that occupy a unique position in the market that will most effectively allow FanDuel to achieve their business objectives
  • Conduct market due diligence to prioritize partners within a given state
  • Customize pitch materials to tailor them to specific potential partners
  • Develop deal proposals, including financial models, to engage potential partners & to serve as basis for getting agreement on key commercial terms
  • Collaborate with the Legal & Finance department to close priority partnerships
  • Work with Finance to assess how the changes to deal terms affect FanDuels expected deal return
  • Help develop solutions to overcome difficult issues including bringing insight on how a partner may view the issue
  • Participate as a key member of the team interacting with partners on an ongoing basis
  • Develop & maintain key relationships within the partner organization & serve as a trusted point of contact for the partner within the FanDuel organization
  • Work with designated contacts at partner to monitor implementation & identify potential friction points
  • Provide a holistic view of the partner relationship across the multiple operational touch points
  • Ensure an appropriate level of high-level partnership review sessions
  • Surface potential opportunities to expand the partnership & drive assessment & decision-making on these opportunities

THE STATS:
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a strategic Business Development role
  • Proven track record of developing partnership strategies in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong financial modeling & presentation skill set
  • Proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint required
  • Facility reading & understanding contracts
  • Experience communicating & presenting to internal & external partners
  • Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally & externally
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who can dissect complex issues & make thoughtful recommendations & action plans
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Results orientated & performance driven
  • Interest in sports and/or real money gaming is preferred
