Our roster has an opening with your name on it. The Retail Commercial Director will work closely with the Commercial Senior Director to drive the Sportsbook retail commercial strategy, & act as liaison with stakeholders to ensure that it gets properly implemented across the organization. At the same time, they will be responsible for deriving business & customer insights, spotting trends/criticalities & reporting periodically to the leadership team. This broad & malleable role will lead revenue & cost optimization initiatives across finance, risk & trading, marketing, fraud & legal/compliance.

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Be a key leader through budgeting & forecasting processes
  • Refine key commercial metrics/reports & collaborate with stakeholders to operationalize these consistently across the organization
  • Improve our ability to understand Retail's impact on online, eventually providing actionable insights into how particular venues, & how Retail in general, impacts our online business
  • To advise & input on future retail opportunities, such as product developments or new venue locations
  • To lead & develop a high-performing team
  • Analyze effectiveness of customer engagement with retail locations & retention expenditure, & provide advanced recommendations for segmentation & distribution
  • Lead programs of work to understand & action opportunities to reduce costs & improve revenue & EBITDA
  • Be a vocal evangelist for driving focus on profitability metrics to inspire all teams across the business to elevate their thinking
  • Proactively partner with stakeholders on business risk assessments & ensure tangible actions & outcomes
  • Link day-to-day operations to overall Enterprise Risk Management, e.g. Safer Gambling, Anti Money Laundering, Compliance
  • Deliver regular performance & strategic updates to the FanDuel leadership team
  • Providing internal or external partner teams with actionable insights

What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • Minimum of 8 years Sportsbook experience in a strategic / analytical role is required
  • Risk management & Sportsbook customer profiling/modeling experience is beneficial
  • Analytical mindset: leverages insights/analytics to make key decisions
  • Strategic mindset: takes a long-term view & anticipates future trends & implications
  • Commercial acumen: advanced understanding of Sportsbook P&L, business principles & commercial levers
  • Professional experience with Excel & Powerpoint is required. SQL & data visualization a plus
  • Loves learning & seeks challenges
  • Effective at relationship building & partnering with stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
  • Ability to take initiative & produce results in a fast-paced environment, combined with a track record of transforming data into actionable insights
