The Role:
ATTN: is looking for an EVP, Managing Director to play a leadership role in building & managing the agency along with its various key departments. The ideal candidate will be a leader with a proven track record of successfully building, growing, & managing a small to mid-sized independent creative agency. They will be responsible for day-to-day operations, managing the agencys P&L, & establishing & maintaining a positive culture to inspire the strongest work for our partners & team.
What Youll Do:
Operations/P&Ls
- Manage the overall operation of the agency by overseeing administrative, financial, & personnel matters
- Responsible for agency P&L & departmental goals, mentoring departmental leaders & monitoring progress throughout the year to ensure success
- Develop a scalable reporting process that provides visibility into the health of the business highlighting the quality of the work, client satisfaction, financial margins & teams performance
Business Development
- Hold senior level (C-Suite) relationships across the industry & tap into your personal network to proactively bring new business opportunities to the company
- Coach new business team in large pitches & take a visible role from RFP through pitch meetings & scope negotiations
- Act as the final elevated point of contact for the agency, establishing long-term relationships & trust with priority clients to ensure client satisfaction, renewals & referrals
- Be omnipresent in the market & play a leadership role in building the agencys industry profile through thought leadership
Managing People
- Build trust with departmental leaders & staff by demonstrating your foundational knowledge across client relationships, marketing, creative, strategy, project management & production
- Create a culture of accountability & autonomy that rewards self-starters, high performers & retains top talent
- Lead by example, stepping in to support & elevate the teams output across departments when needed
- Work closely with the People & Talent team to mentor full-time talent, provide channels for training & development & build a roster of outside resources for shorter term projects
Culture/Defining Agency
- Guide & shape the agency, working with Executive leadership & departmental leads to set the tone for the agency internally & externally
- Create a Purpose-driven, customer-obsessed culture that breeds innovation & creativity
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successfully building an agencys practice as an industry leader & managing a zero to 50M+ or 50 to 100-million-dollar business or division expansion
- 15+ years of advertising, social, marketing or related experience at a senior level inside a small-to-midsize, independent agency
- 10+ years of team management experience & P&L management
- Deep understanding of a creative & social agency with experience spanning across creative, strategy, client service, project management & production
- Senior advisor sought out by clients to provide counsel about advertising, content, social, or digital marketing
- A creative problem solver who is able to see & offer big picture perspective
- A sense of urgency, willing to roll up your sleeves & dig into the work to drive impact when needed
