Lyft is seeking a sharp, dynamic, & self-motivated attorney to join the Product & Commercial Legal team. Youll partner with & provide legal guidance to departments across the organization on initiatives that influence the Lyft Healthcare business & more. You also will be creating & negotiating new & novel commercial contracts for Lyft Healthcare. The legal issues youll encounter are cutting edge, revolutionary & always evolving, so it will be up to you to continuously assess & advise using a creative & pragmatic approach. The successful candidate will be skilled at building strong relationships, working in the unknown while balancing legal risks, & comfortable working in a fast-paced & dynamic environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft & negotiate a variety of legal agreements involving complex partnerships, healthcare transactions, technology transactions, & IP-related legal issues
  • Act as primary legal advisor for product & engineering teams, supporting them on projects from design to launch on new features, products & services, & programs
  • Coordinate advice with cross-functional stakeholders & counsel product, marketing, engineering, healthcare, & other business teams on legal issues related to the provision of products to help ensure compliance with healthcare laws, consumer protection laws, privacy laws & regulations, & other legal requirements
  • Develop & drive comprehensive, long-term legal strategies that balance risk & business objectives
  • Prioritize workload to set goals & meet deadlines in a fluctuating & sometimes ambiguous business environment
  • Collaborate with legal team members to improve processes & ensure business demands are satisfied
  • Assist other teams with projects on an as-needed basis

Experience:

  • Membership in a state bar with good standing
  • 5+ years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Experience handling healthcare commercial contracts & complex transactions & Business Associate Agreements
  • Knowledge of healthcare law & regulations in subject matters such as Medicare, Medicaid, anti-kickback, HIPAA, prescription drugs, & pharmacy
  • Experience at a technology company as a product counsel, advising on healthcare, consumer protection, privacy & data security, Internet law, & IP law
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written & verbal), & interpersonal skills
  • Willing & eager to take on new areas of law
  • Strong track record of working with a wide range of commercial agreements & customer facing terms
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, & simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands & shifting priorities
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace
  • Good business & legal judgment & a sense of humor
