Job Description
As a member of the Perception Data & Tools team, you will build tools with inputs from the advanced mobile mapping system, laser scanner, motion capture system, & cameras to provide the ground truth data for 3D reconstruction, localization, & mapping. In addition, you will work with other talented engineers to continue to push the frontiers of LiDAR technology applications in the Perception team of Magic Leap.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the existing LiDAR-based software stacks in C++/Python. Be able to debug & fix issues quickly
- Implement SW components within the LiDAR-based software infrastructure running on GCP Kubernetes
- Analytic solid skill & keen eyes for detail to discover the problems from the pipeline
- Thinking out of the box in terms of prototype to prove concept & software development
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of development experience in C/C++ & Python within an industrial environment
- Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Solid understanding of reality capture systems, e.g., mobile mapping system, laser scanner, & multiple-camera system
- Experience writing maintainable, reusable code, leveraging test-driven principles to develop high-quality modules
- Experience with any field of point cloud data process, image processing, camera calibration, & 3D graphics rendering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud computation & Docker
Education:
- M.S. in CS, ECE or related fields or equivalent working experience
