The Roivant R&D team works hand in hand with Business Development & the EVP, Head of R&D & Chief Medical Offer to establish the scientific rationale & initial development strategy for novel drug candidates & in-licensing opportunities

Position Summary: 

Roivant Sciences is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company committed to developing innovative therapies.  Roivant is seeking a research immunologist to play a key role in driving our preclinical research efforts to advance best in class therapies in immune-oncology & other areas. The individual should have expertise in cancer immunology & ideally in cell therapy.  The candidate must have biology or discovery research experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, & additional experience in translational research is highly desirable. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead preclinical immunology assessments to advance programs forward from inception into IND-enabling studies
  • Design experiments, meticulously execute bench work, troubleshoot assays to validate targets & advance programs, in collaboration with colleagues
  • Data review, analysis, & interpretation from a variety of sources to enable program go/no-go decisions
  • Design, develop, & execute preclinical data package to support IND filings
  • Work collaboratively with internal & external industry & academic teams
  • Manage projects with vendors & CROs
  • Write, edit, & review reports, records, & documents for IP & regulatory filings
  • Present results at internal & external meetings
  • Contribute to building a positive, team-oriented biotech culture

Skills, Qualifications, & Requirements: 

  • PhD in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or related discipline
  • 6+ years of relevant research experience including experience at a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company, in a biology or drug discovery group; translational research experience is also desirable.
  • Deep scientific knowledge & technical skills in the field of immunology
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously & lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong people skills, leading by example & working with research teams to manage multiple projects
  • Technical proficiency with immunotherapy platforms
  • Experience working with external vendors & collaborators
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Experience in project leadership & laboratory management
