Job Description

Visa's EMV Solutions team operates as part of the company's Chip & EMV Solutions Product Development group, under the leadership of the Senior VP of Visa Digital & Developer Platform (DDP).

Chip Development team, a part of EMV Solutions team, develops & maintains testing framework for Visa's contact & contactless chip products, mobile products & other emerging chip products. The Chip Test Development team is primarily responsible of ensuring chip product's compliance & interoperability to Visa specifications & requirements.

The Senior SoftwareEngineer operates as an individual contributor, a core member of the Chip Test Development team. Working within the team, this individual shall be responsible for developing model-based test requirements for Visa's specifications. This individual must be able to operate independently under tight timelines, changing deliverables & additional projects as they occur.

Responsibilities

  • Design/develop/maintains testing framework for contact, contactless chip & mobile products to ensure compliance with Visa specifications.
  • Design/develop/maintain various test tools and/or applications to support the testing framework

  • Build & maintain trusted partnerships with internal & external contacts by acting as the chip product testing expert.

  • Provide support locally or remotely with internal counterparts or stakeholders within the Approval Services or EMV Solutions teams & external partners within the Digital Mobile Payment teams, regions & test facilities on the testing & approval process for chip products

  • Communicate clearly all interoperability risks and/or issues to management providing solutions & options.

  • Establish close working relationships, communicate effectively & proactively. Actively participate in cross-disciplinary working groups & collaborate closely with colleagues from the wider Visa Technology group

  • Identify opportunities for further enhancements & refinements to the development & testing processes. Be able to articulate recommendations & alternative options for enhancing the development & testing processes to management & other stakeholders (internal & external), offering new ideas, considering risks & delivering solutions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering (or equivalent work experience) will be required

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology including, but not limited, to Python, Java, .NET, C++.

  • Experience in developing tools/applications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of professional working experience in software development or Q/A in the area of IC (integrated circuit) chip card and/or terminal

  • An understanding of chip payment products (needs/solutions) will be highly preferred

  • Strong results-oriented team member; Analytic & fact-based consultative discipline.

  • Self-starter & ability, desire & motivation to learn quickly & pick up new skills

  • Possess excellent verbal/written communication skills & be able to effectively communicate with all levels.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have working experience in payment industry with knowledge of:

    • Chip Cards & POS Terminals (Contact & Contactless)

    • Visa Integrated Circuit Card Specification (VIS) & Visa Contactless Payment Specification (VCPS)

    • EMVCo and/or GlobalPlatform specifications

    • ISO 7816 & ISO 14443 standards for card, device, mobile device, or other form factors
