Investment bankers are becoming a driving force behind many of today's successful startups. If you're tired of building excel models, editing powerpoints and running "scenarios" then join four reformed investment bankers as they discuss their journey from Wall Street to Silicon Alley and learn how you too can make the leap.

Roundtable participants:

Alex Leung, Spotify
Alex is a Senior Strategist at Spotify. Spotify is the leading on-demand music streaming company. Alex is primarily responsible for identifying, developing and implementing new business strategies. Prior to joining Spotify, Alex worked at Techstar's Connected Devices Accelerator. Previously, Alex was an Associate in J.P. Morgan's Equity Capital Markets division with a focus on the Technology, Media and Telecommunication sectors. At J.P. Morgan, Alex worked on many of the Web 2.0 IPOs, including Facebook and LinkedIn. Alex graduated from Emory University's Goizueta Business School with a B.B.A. in Finance and Management.

Geoff Lewis, Honest Buildings
Geoff is Vice President of Business Development at Honest Buildings, a venture backed technology start-up building the premier online marketplace for real estate owners and operators to procure design & construction services. Prior to joining Honest Buildings, Geoff was an investment professional at Permira Advisors where he focused on identifying, evaluating and executing investment opportunities within the technology sector. Before Permira, he worked in the leveraged finance group at Deutsche Bank. Geoff holds a bachelor's degree from Pomona College with a major in Mathematics.

Suraj Jain, Speakaboos
Suraj is Partnerships Manager at Speakaboos, a venture backed mobile education platform for early childhood literacy and language learning through interactive, digital storybooks. Suraj is responsible for growing the publishing and distribution partnerships at Speakaboos. Previously, Suraj ran Finance & Operations at ClassPass where he helped manage the growth of the team and company. Before ClassPass, he worked on his own financial education startup for a year after spending three years as a analyst in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey. Suraj holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia with a concentration in finance and management and is Co-Chair of the Junior Council for Change for Kids, a NYC-based educational non-profit.

Moderator: Sameer Syed, Tremor Video
Sameer is Director of Corporate and Business Development at Tremor Video, a leading video ad tech company, where he focuses on assessing acquisition opportunities and evaluating partnerships. Prior to joining Tremor, he was a Director of Business Development at ad tech startup Genesis Media. Previously, Sameer was as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan for three years and also spent a year in JPM's internal consulting program. Sameer is the organizer and founder of Wall Street to Silicon Alley quarterly roundtable and also serves as a mentor at Seedcamp, an early stage seed investment fund. He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
