At CommerceHub, were passionate about designing, building, & continuously improving our innovative products, which power much of eCommerce. With our solutions, we seek to increase our customers ability to craft high-performing, consumer-focused eCommerce programs. Design plays a crucial role in ensuring our users can extract the full value of what we have to offer. The UX/UI Designers role is to work with product managers, engineers, & other designers to create the biggest design impact.

Specific Duties

The UX/UI Designer is responsible for the following:

  • Learning & discovery: Youll translate user research, evidence, & analytics into effective design decisions. Youre able to validate designs for ease of use & ability to deliver real value to our users.
  • Collaborative feature & flow design: With a focus on outcomes, youll contribute design & user flows for product & engineering, on one or more product teams. Youll collaborate with business & engineering on day-to-day design projects, while continually defining & specifying presentation & behavior in the form of wireframes & documentation for engineering.
  • Design validation: Youll employ a "validation stack" (Theory, Research & Evidence) to support your designs. Youll use this to vet your ideas before proposing them. Looking at real data, conducting user testing and research, reviewing analytics, this is how youll evaluate the efficacy of your ideas.
  • Design Direction: Youll provide design direction & post-development design reviews on user-facing engineering projects. Youll also be available to answer clarifying questions as they come up. Youll work with Product Managers on challenges to your designs and provide design rationales & iterations to effectively balance user needs with the pressures of technology & business.
  • Continual refinement & improvement: Youll develop tools & processes to constantly improve usability & create functional, simple solutions to complex issues. Youll think through user personas & scenarios to clarify results of user research & focus on the needs of key users.
  • Prioritization: Youll prioritize the components of user value against competing forces. Youll work to deliver experiences that are not only functional, but also discoverable, usable, useful, credible, accessible, & desirable.
  • Creating & inventing: Youll use a broad toolkit of design methodologies to help guide the design & development process - sketching, wireframes, task flows, high-fidelity comps, & prototyping. You have a functional knowledge of the opportunities & limitations that come with web-based software delivered in HTML5 & CSS3 & Javascript.
  • Presenting your work: You jump at the chance to share what youve done & can provide a strong rationale for the decisions you have made.

  • General understanding of the capabilities of the medium: HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
  • Able to work autonomously, and multitask in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional collaborator, communicator (written & verbal), & influencer.
