Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Manager of Operational Risk Management to join our Enterprise Risk Management team.

About the role

In the Senior Manager of Operational Risk Management role, you will understand Oscar's business goals, building efficient & repeatable processes, & engaging & conveying the importance of best-practices in enterprise risk management.


You will report to the Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management. This is a hybrid role, & you will work part of the time in the New York City office & part of the time working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Build an Enterprise Risk Management framework, including risk appetite, risk tolerance & limits, risk identification, assessment, & aggregation, & risk mitigation strategy
  • Develop procedures that are essential components of Risk Governance
  • Develop risk aggregation & reporting
  • Develop a group level aggregation of risks across the enterprise, starting with a bottom-up risk identification process
  • Administer, tracking & following up with Risk Owners & Action Owners around Risk Events
  • Help design & coordinate enterprise Risk & Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process
  • Help develop a Process, Risk & Control framework to support RCSA process
  • Work with the business around the development of end-to-end business processes & Value Chains
  • Develop, & automate quarterly risk reports for the Board Finance, Risk & Investment Committee & Audit Committee
  • Manage external disclosures related to risk management
  • Support the annual Own Risk & Solvency Assessment to identity, assess, monitor & manage material & risks
  • Respond to regulatory requests for risk management updates
  • Support the internal process for risk management by maintaining liability coverage following risk appetite

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in the insurance industry (ideally within Healthcare)
  • Experience in a risk & controls background in Operational Risk or Internal Audit
  • Management experience working with partners
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Risk Management
