The Role
This leadership role will facilitate video development & production within Tastys Creator Network. You will oversee a small team whose primary focus is building the future of our creator strategy. In this role, youll help develop a pipeline for new talent, build & maintain relationships with external creators, & work with our Tasty talent residents to create best-in-class video content.
You will work closely with BuzzFeeds internal Creators Team, identifying & developing new Tasty talent & finding ways to supercharge their content using Tastys editorial insights. You will share strategies & best practices to drive growth on our social platforms, as well as offer creative & technical solutions. You will partner with external creators to develop content for Tastys programming calendar.
You are passionate about people managing & facilitating creativity & growth. You value diversity of all types & can execute that commitment in recruiting, promoting employees & building relationships with talent.
You are equally comfortable in creative & business meetings, & can proactively problem-solve & identify new opportunities. You will serve as an editorial video liaison between Tasty stakeholders across the company including tech, business, admin & production.
You can balance overseeing the work of seasoned & junior employees, both internal & external, while being able to work closely with cross-functional leads & external business partners to facilitate growth for Tasty. You will regularly contribute to growing the brand by prioritizing cross-functional projects between editorial talent, tech, business & admin.
You Will
- Work with external creators & Tasty residents to produce trend-setting video content
- Be an informational & creative leader for creator talent, advising on best practices, the Tasty lens, & our workflow
- Oversee the creator production process across various video series, one-offs & special projects
- Oversee multiple, simultaneous productions & timelines, ensuring deliverables are met in a timely manner
- Interface between accounting, post production, studio operations, casting, legal, the creators team & editorial
- Support editorial sponsorships, as needed
- Ideate new initiatives that further the overall business & can lead projects to success
- Proactively communicate & collaborate with Operational & Creative leads on all production issues & processes
- Implement improvements & necessary changes to production resources & processes
- Expertly & proactively problem-solve, arriving at unique solutions to complex problems
- Build documentation & training for new processes, tools, & resources
- Train & oversee internal & external talent
- Ensure the sourcing & hiring of diverse & inclusive crew & staff positions
- Develop structured learning & growth plans for direct report(s)
- Create new revenue streams through a deep understanding of strategy, business goals & the Tasty POV
You Have
- 5+ years proven experience producing compelling food content & managing a team
- People management experience showing you can lead with empathy & vulnerability
- Experience in varied video production models
- A thorough understanding of digital video platforms & what makes content shareable
- Experience & comfort with client & partner meetings
- The ability to motivate a team to accomplish brand & company goals
- Exceptional organizational skills & the ability to prioritize & delegate tasks when necessary
- Stellar written & verbal communication skills
- A thorough understanding of how your work furthers Tastys brand goals
