Warby Parker is seeking a motivated IT Network Engineer to join our Technology team. In this role, youll use your technical skills to solve problems & engineer solutions that build, maintain, & monitor the networks that power Warby Parker day in & day out. What youll do:
- Ensure our offices, labs, & stores work seamlessly, with minimal network & internet-related disruptions
- Monitor the operational health of our network infrastructure & provide long-term solutions for issues
- Work closely with our IT & Security teams on process, documentation, troubleshooting, & securing our network infrastructure
- Liaise with vendors to resolve network-related support tickets
- Create automation to reduce internet outage recovery
- Take proactive measures to improve monitoring & action-oriented alerting
- Collaborate with colleagues on improving workflows for network support & implementation of new location build-outs
- Mentor IT Support Engineers in network troubleshooting & solutions
Who you are:
- Backed by an impressive track record of deploying solutions & building relevant processes & documentation
- Experienced in cloud-based & SD-WAN network solutions (Meraki, Viptella, Mist, ExtremeIQ, IDS/IPS)
- Knowledgeable about network monitoring & alerting (Solarwinds, Zabbix, PRTG, Datadog, Syslog, SNMP)
- An expert troubleshooter who is fluent with ping, traceroute, Nmap, & netcat, & tcpdump/Wireshark
- Proficient in network & VPN protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPSec, GRE, DMVPN, AutoVPN)
- An expert in Firewall technologies (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper, pfSense, Cisco ZBF)
- Proficient with Cisco iOS (Catalyst & ISR configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting: ACLs, Etherchannel, NAT, STP, trunking, VLANs, QoS)
- Knowledgeable about WiFi, including planning, mapping, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, & support,
- Knowledgeable about ISP delivery (broadband, DIA, cellular service, & cellular hardware)
- Possessing a knack for network automation (Ansible, Python, Netmiko, Meraki APIs, Slack integrations)
- Ready & eager to take on AWS networking infrastructure (VPC design & peering, transit gateway, VPN appliances, HA architecture)
- A skilled communicatorwith both internal & external stakeholderswho has strong organizational experience
- Able to work after normal business hours when required
- Not on the Officer of Inspector Generals List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Extra credit:
- Experience in a support-based role for a large distributed enterprise, Retailer, or MSP
- Certified in CCNA, Meraki ECMS, Network+
- Familiarity & passion for Zero-Trust Architecture
- Understanding of raw construction site processes & procedures like MDF/IDF planning
- Skilled in security systems including secrets/passphrase management, LDAP/RADIUS/AD, certificate-based authentication, EAP-TLS, 802.11x, SAML (GSuite, Okta)
