ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton is looking for a Director, Product Analytics to lead the existing Product Analytics team, reporting to the Senior Director of User Research & Product Analytics. The Product Analytics team at Peloton is responsible for helping Product & Design teams make data-driven decisions around high level roadmap & resource allocation, as well as around specifics of feature design & iteration.

The Director, Product Analytics has a good understanding of the data analysis process, requirements & dependencies of each project, as well as strengths & interests of all team members. The team is currently comprised of seven analysts with varied experience levels. Dependent on depth of experience in management, the Director, Product Analytics will manage a team of 3-10 analysts & data scientists. While ideally the Director is a mentor & manager, the emphasis is on finding the former inspiring leader & expert voice for the team, more so than a people manager.

This role works collaboratively with Product Managers, User Researchers, Engineers, UX Designers & various business partners towards reaching a common goal of delivering concrete insights to Product & Business teams & measuring the impact of Product & Design decisions.

The ideal candidate combines outstanding business acumen & communication skills with solid analytical skills, with experience managing & developing teams of analysts & data scientists.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Maintain & nurture critical cross-functional team to empower disciplined & comprehensive decisions across the Product organization
  • Collaborate with a variety of business partner teams to understand product & design strategy/execution tactics & help teams apply data-first insights & solutions
  • Own team OKRs, roadmap, & processes that help Product Analysts & Data Scientists do their best work
  • Understand existing metrics/data availability across Pelotons data ecosystem
  • Proactively drives experimental culture, advising teams around how to measure success
  • Lead the way in effective positioning of & advocacy for the Product Analytics team within Peloton
  • Continuously enhance your own knowledge of product analytics frameworks & best practices
  • Support data & analytics self-service across non-technical marketing team members & evangelize best practices
  • Lead quarterly planning & roadmaps for Product Analytics
  • Foster a thought leadership partnership with the leadership team
  • Lead hiring & growth strategy in partnership with Senior Director

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in a technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in product analytics or combination of experience in product & marketing analytics (advanced degree may contribute to years of experience)
  • 3+ years of experience building & leading top-performing teams in a people management capacity
  • Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to write complex & nuanced queries against new or unfamiliar data sets.  
  • Intermediate level or above Python skills: proficiency with Pandas & experience applying statistical models using Scikit-learn
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Amplitude)
  • Experience with full data collection & analysis process; understand end-to-end to define appropriate responsibilities & enhance efficiency for team
  • Experience with defining & implementing product data architecture & tools/ best practices for doing so (e.g. dbt, airflow etc.)
  • Experience designing & conducting A/B testing
  • Ability to distill technical or complex matters into clear & concise explanations to senior leaders & less technical partners
  • Proactive, thoughtful, & highly organized self-starter; thrives in ambiguity & solving open-ended problems without a clear right answer
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills required; role involves building positive relationships across the organization.
