Job Description

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for providing support to critical customer-facing applications. In this position you will be applying root-cause operation break fixes & other enthusiastic maintenance activities to keep the application up & running 24x7. This is a professional level position & requires strong execution & analytical abilities. You will be expected to interact with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Clients, Risk & various groups within Technology. Strong Linux/Unix capabilities, communication & analytical skills are very important to find success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security & availability of several applications based on business requirements & adhering to tight operations, security, & procedural models
  • This position requires a dynamic, hard-working & ambitious individual, with excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Assist in change management processes & improve the efficiency & help standardize current processes
  • Document & thoroughly understand the application architecture, system configuration across platforms & work with various systems & use this knowledge effectively to resolve issues
  • You will work closely with customer support team to communicate the root cause of the outage, duration & recommendations or steps to resolve issues
  • Participate in Service Improvement meetings after an application outage
  • Respond to general inquiries, & provide assistance as required in analyzing the trends & suggesting long-term & short-term improvements
  • Resolve incidents & problems in accordance within defined guidelines & meet operational level agreements
  • Implement change requests & meet project deliverables
  • You achieve & understand Service Level commitments
  • Ability to work after hours including weekends & night when required
  • You provide automation solutions of manual repetitive tasks
Qualifications
  • Minimum7 years' experience in working with Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, IBM-IHS web server & LDAP
  • Experience in HyperLedger (IBM) to handle ledgers block chain & support Couch DB
  • Strong knowledge of Block Chain functionality to support kakfa, Zoop keeper
  • Expert level of experience on Redhats version of kubernetes, Docker called openshift
  • Intermediate level of experience for Kakfa, Zoop keeper to handle the system
  • Basic level knowledge on Akamai, Active-Active setup Application
  • Hyperledeger & Kubernetes & open shift
  • Knowledge & experience with Linux & UNIX
  • Minimum5 years' experience in Production support working in a globally distributed team
  • Working experience on Java, J2EE & Perl Script technologies
  • Experience in working with Db2 UDB & Oracle DB's, DML/DDL SQLs & Store PROCs
  • Intermediate knowledge on Cloud & VM ware infrastructure
  • Intermediate knowledge on Load Balancer,TCP layer architecture
  • Strong knowledge of ansible & YAML scripting
  • Experience with Service Now & ticketing workflows is preferred
  • Working experience with monitoring tools like SPLUNK or any other monitoring tools/processes will be advantageous
  • Prior working experience with Card & transaction domains will be advantageous
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required
  • Should have a technical & business mindset
  • ISO 9000 & ITIL experience will be advantageous
