Oscar Product is a growing, fast-paced team using technology & design to revolutionize healthcare. As a PM, youll play a key role in helping Oscar solve problems & accelerating your teams execution. We work on a wide range of projects in several areas: building next-generation consumer experiences, expanding into new markets, creating better ways for healthcare providers to interact with patients, optimizing internal operations & processes, & lots more. As a PM in our HQ office, youll play a key role in building the systems that fuel our core care delivery & insurance platforms. Youll work to develop new functionality for our members, providers, or internal teams, & youll be at the forefront of coordinating cross-team alignment to launch our proprietary platform. Youll work closely with a team of talented engineers on one of the following:

  • Medicare Advantage: Youll work on building our Medicare Advantage platform, negotiating with vendors & partners, solving complex problems & working with highly-cross functional teams to scale this new market for Oscar.

You are:

  • Experienced. You have worked directly with engineers in product management roles for 2+ years. (Were serious!)

  • A fast learner. Healthcare is complicated; youre excited to get into the details & become an expert in health insurance infrastructure, from how claims are processed to how payments flow through the healthcare system.

  • Comfortable with complex systems. You know how to analyze & decompose a complex system into its constituent parts.

  • Analytical. You know how to analyze & decompose a complex system, & how to communicate that complexity simply & cleanly. You use data to clarify decisions wherever possible (hard data skills like SQL a plus).

  • An end-to-end thinker. You can look at a problem & create a solution all the way from top-level goals to nitty-gritty operational details.

  • User-centric. You have a passion for user experience, & you can do everything from user research to working closely with designers to create an amazing experience.

  • Empathetic. You understand other disciplines & bring everyone together using clear communication & strong structured thinking.

  • Great at prioritizing. There are a million ways to make the healthcare experience better - we cant fix all of them at once! Where will you start & why?

  • Collaborative. You love helping engineers, designers, operations experts, & other teams around you do their best work. You solve problems with others.

  • Organized. You are a natural at project managing your features & getting things done.

  • Above all: you are mature, open-minded, & nice. (No jerks allowed!)

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Defining the business & user goals of your features & product area, creating process & system specifications for our operations, & working across teams to implement them.

  • Driving a road map for the designers & engineers you work with to rally around.

  • Working with engineers, designers & other internal stakeholders to create specs & implement features.

  • Making sure your features are on track & high quality, & helping your team adjust them as needed.

  • Generating insights from data & user research to inform decisions, create learnings, & measure success.

  • Coordinating & organizing work across multiple perspectives & functions within Oscar.

  • Testing, monitoring & maintaining the areas youre responsible for to ensure seamless & uninterrupted operations.
