Job Description

Job Scope

As a Manager in Issuer Processing, you will manage the Platform Services development team based in Highlands Ranch, CO where you will be responsible & accountable for the design, development, & support of multiple applications across several hardware platforms. This position will have responsibility of day-to-day management of a team of up to 15 software developers & will also contribute to the software development process. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Issuer Processing Platform Services development based in Highlands Ranch.

Essential Functions

  • Build & maintain a high performing team; hire & retain the right talent in the right role

  • Develop & empower direct reports to make appropriate technical decisions

  • Demonstrate Visa's core values & maintain a positive & open demeanor

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration & mentoring

  • Manage resources in alignment with forecast models

  • Partner with Product resources to identify clear business requirements

  • Manage development resources by setting clear business & technical expectations

  • Manage development resources across multiple technologies including .Net, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Windows, Unix/Linux

  • Work collaboratively with senior management, architecture & senior development staff to develop broadly acceptable solutions

  • Set resource goals & delegate project work

  • Drive consistency in artifacts & deliverables, budgets, & resource planning

  • Identify process improvements and/or ineffective use of project hours & resources

  • Generate innovative ideas, solutions, & opportunities to contribute to the Visa enterprise & Issuer Processing success

  • Ensure resource availability to support deployment activities in various environments

  • Take complete responsibility of the full life cycle of projects & oversee software release implementations when required

  • Design & develop highly scalable & fault-tolerant systems using multiple technologies

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience & a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.

  • Agile development methodology experience (Scrum/Kanban) preferred

  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities

  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills

  • Strong analytical, problem determination & customer relations skills

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills

Additional Information

Travel Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to travel up to 10% of the time.

Work Hours

Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, reach with hands & arms, & bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
